The sky was dark this morning…

I’m ready for the holidays to be over. It’s not so much the “holiday season” that’s bothering me but our holiday hours. We’re scheduled 3 hours later than usual and so far there isn’t one customer in the store. I wouldn’t mind staying open if I could make some $$$…but, I suppose getting paid to sit around and update my blog is pretty nice.

Finals are next week. The last papers of the semester have all been turned in (and I got A’s on them all thank you) but I’m definitely looking forward to the end of OCC and the beginning of something more exciting and challenging.  I’d like two nights off before the Spring Semester starts but since Dec 14th is when I transfer to full-time it doesn’t look like that will happen.

It’s odd though, I thrive off of the stress and excitement of constantly being on the go and active. It presents a sense of accomplishment.

I do look forward when I can spend part of my winter season here though… Walking the trails, a thermos full of hot apple cider… There’s a reason I’m looking at law schools in Oregon! I’ve been dreaming in overdrive here lately. I guess with each successful step it awakens what is slowly becoming a reality.

On the spur of the moment I was invited to go down to Murray tonight to hang out with some of my old friends..

Which brings me to my next thought, stolen from V for Vendetta. “There are no coincidences, only the illusion of coincidence” There have been a couple of very strange coincidences that have occurred lately.. but, i’m not analyzing them for I know what they mean already..

I’m not sure if I’m going to stay up there the entire weekend yet, I know I’m definitely going to crash there tonight.. and depending on how the weather holds up I might venture out. If the weather happens to be bad I know a couple of places I could go as well. Not quite the road trip I had intended but.. any road is a good road. lol

I wound up driving to Murray on a whim last night and it was a good choice. Caught up with a lot of old friends and met a few new people. It was overwhelming running into everyone and it seemed near impossible to get caught up but I mean that in a good way. I had forgotten how much I loved Murray, both the town and the people in there. Eventually maybe I’ll be able to get down that way again…

Wound up crashing at Casa De Hughes around 6am and then went over and helped Stephen pack up some of the last of his things. It’s going to be weird going down there and no one living there any longer. Glad I came down when I did though. It was especially good seeing him again.

So, I just got in a few minutes ago, figure I’ll do some laundry and straighten the place up before a new work week begins.

left for Murray Wednesday afternoon and pretty much just got back. It was insane amounts of fun hanging out and partying at Hughes. The Racer Band concert in front of Lovett sounded good also.. a lot better then last years.. + 2001 almost blew my ear drums.

My appeal at UK went through so I’m going there now.. I have to go tomorrow (today) at 8 and register for classes

After changing my story about 99x times things are planned out. I’m getting a U-haul and heading down to my new house in Lexington this Saturday. I’ve barely begun to pack. It’s crazy how much stuff i’ve managed to accumulate since I came back from Murray

I’m not going to lie.. I’m slightly nervous about this whole arrangement.. but.

Here’s hoping for the best

So, quick update.

We’ve finally selected a place. Hopefully next week we’ll sign the lease.

Things I need

1.) bed / mattress/ box springs everything
2.) home entertainment center for the living room

I might have a living room suite from my grandmother.. it’s this retro 70s suite.. I like it

So I was caught in the most fun storm ever. I was on my way to the royce going down Carter when all of a sudden there was a complete downpour and extreme hail. All of the power / lights / stop lights went dead and I could barely see in front of my car. I keep going, finally making my way to the royce when I realize the driveway is blocked as the buliding beside it partially collapsed and debris littered the area. I parked across the street and starting walking towards the enterence when I saw the cables from the royce sign lying on the ground and the sign was leaning on the roof. Not to mention sections of gutter were thrown about the parking lot

so. much. fun

Time to update.

What can I say, it was a very productive weekend in Murray. I got to Murray around 7:30 and went to Bees with Andy. I’d say the LAN Party was a complete success, 23 people showed up. Not bad considering how quickly the event was setup. Moment of the night? Watching Rachel pwn Richard in UT (at least once) Rocked the Huddle at about 4:30am w/ Andy and Gibson.. It’s not the Royce, but it’ll do ;)

Crashed at the lake, I can see why Andy really likes that place. It’s completely isolated and peaceful.. great place to study/relax. I awoke to a nice surprise, mom left me a voicemail saying a letter came from Murray.. I got in :)

but… Saturday was the best day of the weekend. Left the lake around 6ish, picked up Matt and hit up Bad Bob’s BBQ.. it paled in comparison to an Owensboro BBQ joint until I sprinkled this seasoning stuff all over my food, to quote Matt and Andy “put it ALL OVER EVERYTHING” and it kicked ass. btw, has anyone ever watched Drawn Together? I caught an ep over at Matts apartment and it cracked me up.

Went to a pretty sweet party over on Hughes Street…met some interesting people and had an overall kickass time..was finally introduced to the backpack

Now it’s Sunday and I’m looking for someone to hitup Los before I go back to the boro..one more semester and i’ll be living here… :)
