Actually got some sun today! Slowly learning a few fishing skills. What lures to use when etc.. I’m loving my new rod and reel! It took some practice to prevent backlash but it’s much more precise than a spinning reel. Hopefully soon we’ll have access to a boat. Shore fishing becomes stale after a while but I could sit on a boat all day.

Finally, a day with good fishing weather. Thanks to the rain yesterday things should be much cooler out. Mark and Sondra bought me a baitcasting rod and reel for my birthday. Hopefully I’ll have some better luck today!

I think I’ve been fishing more in the past week than the past year combined.

Yesterday was the first day I’ve been to church in several years. I was invited by my friends and their family and it wasn’t as awkward as I figured. It was too windy to get any good fishing in but we decided to give it a whirl anyway. Still haven’t caught anything this season. This will change…. I want to learn how to fillet and cook up some freshly caught fish!

Well, today is my birthday and coincidentally will be the second year in a row I’ve been out fishing on my bday. The major downside about it being my birthday month is…renewing the registration and paying taxes on my car. I think this should be changed to an arbitrary month. Who wants their birthday reminding them of bills?
Looking forward to getting out on the boat and (hopefully) catching some stinking fish!
