Is to stop the bus…

How about that rain shower last night?…I almost went out and drove around as I’m want to do but a little voice in my head said, “Ed, bad things happen when you drive during storms.”

Today has been very uneventful…got out of class early and had the day off. Mike D, is the new band director at OHS so I figured I’d pop in and see how camp was progressing. Found out that the old band room was demolished in the renovations…It was interesting having band talk. Got caught up on the newest high school directors and general activities for the area. Going to have to try to hang out with him more often..

that’s pretty much what I’ve done today…working on some extra credit stuff. Today was the last day of real classes with finals on Monday and Tuesday…then two solid weeks of mornings off! Definitely excited about that one :)

Whatever shall I do ? =P

It seems so fitting don’t you think? To dress the ground in white and grey…

How about this snow storm? Ahh, craziness. We’ve had a tornado warning, flash flood warning, thunderstorm warning and winter storm warning all in one week. Gotta love Ohio River Valley weather.

Today has been a pretty lazy day for me. Off from work, only had one class. Feeling pretty much recovered from my sinus infection, upper respiratory infection and bronchitis. Quite a mix ey?

Wound up getting caught up on some Battlefield 2 earlier…I had forgotten how addicting and infuriating that game was. “Yes, I’ve almost captured the..” ***Fredward was killed. Oops

Of course I had to get out in this weather…I was originally going to play it safe and stay in but…That’s boring and I really wanted some coffee so I made the trek downtown. Some idiot actually tried going the speed limit on the bypass before realizing that was a very bad idea and dropping it down to 25. Gotta love this area. Not only do people forget how to drive during bad weather but I have a feeling if you go to any grocery store they’re going to be lacking Milk, Bread and Water. Come on guys. It’s some snow. Not a blizzard. If I was out driving today you can probably make it to the store.

Anyway, LeAnne was working and of course she didn’t have any tables…I was the only one foolish enough to go down for coffee =P Wound up playing a couple of dice games and BSing for oh, 5 hours or so. Pretty much made myself at home. It’s been a while since I’ve brewed up a fresh pot there…Call it crazy but I like the familiarity and comfort of pretty much being able to do whatever I want…and she’s the owners daughter so apparently it’s not that big of a deal.

Now classes are canceled for the day and I’m off work…It’s like a minivacation and I’m actually feeling well enough to enjoy it. However am I going to spend my time? Probably playing Battlefield 2 followed by studying for my Civ test tomorrow. I’m really trying to ace this semester for a multitude of reasons. 1.) Because I can and 2.) Because I really want to boost my GPA. So far, I have three different plans for next semester: One is completely doable but I’d rather not, The second i’d enjoy but I’m having to wait to see how financial aid pans out…and the third I would absolutely love but it’s going to be completely impossible.

Plan everything. Allow for change.

I’m at my computer…the wind is blowing as a reminder of a powerful storm. The rain may have quieted, the lightning has ceased it’s incessant flashing…the thunder long abated. But, the wind won’t relent. and its effects are still known. My windows are rattling..my door trying to blow open..The ceiling is groaning and creaking with every gust. It’s a testament to how old these buildings are. They’ve served their purpose time and time again and they’re trying their best to continue.

It’s enough to make me stop and wonder…How many people have lived in this one apartment? What stories would these walls tell?

Ok, i’m getting too far out there.

Storms always tend to get me thinking…they’re amazingly powerful and urgent. They take elements that can be quite calm such as the water and wind and manipulate them with such power.

Enough about that. Tonight was a reminder of why I hate Windows so much. 25 minutes on the phone with Microsoft Product Activation trying to convince them a copy of windows is legal. If you want to have an activation that’s fine. I completely understand a company not wanting their products pirated. But MAKE IT WORK. Since Vista changed they way product activation is handled there are way too many bugs in the system and the Call Centers aren’t properly staffed to deal with them all

These past couple of days have went by really well. I go tomorrow to schedule for classes.. Still torn about 9 or 12 hours and I have my second interview (well first REAL one) over at O`Charleys tomorrow. I’m pretty excited. Maybe soon I can afford a car payment and get rid of this stinkin truck. lol I gotta go browse through some junkyards and see if I can find another arm for my windshield wiper…and even if I get one hope that whatever electronics that controls it isn’t completely busted.

ah. I needed that little thundershower that we had yesterday. Definitely had to go out driving in it.. and walking in it. lol. Storms always relax me and the other day was no exception. All of my worries and all of my stress were blown away by the wind and the water rejuvenated me..

I feel great!
