and it’s been a while

and for me Spring Break begins today…which feels kind of odd considering we’re supposed to have four-five inches of snow in the next few days.

Haven’t posted in a little while. Things are pretty much the same. Class is still going really well. Making good grades and all that jazz. Just got hired at AT&T Wireless as a salesman…I have to go through about three weekends of training in Louisville before I hit the floor but I’m pretty stoked about it.

Still got the cat, she’s finally quieted down and gotten used to my place. Definitely need to get her some more toys though…she thinks everything I have lying out is hers to play with. lol

I’m starting to get a little antsy though. In the mood to go somewhere. There’s only so long one can occupy oneself sitting at home. I’d really like to go visit my brother in GA but that’s not gonna happen. I’ll settle for a trip to Murray.

that’d be pretty nice about now…if the snow doesn’t keep everyone in .

Anyone want a cat?

I think I might have adopted a cat

Coming up to my apartment tonight I saw a stray trying to curl up in a ditch meowing her little head off. My first thought was to get a box, fill it full of old blankets, get some food and water and be done with it.

I mean, my good deed for the day right? The cat wouldn’t freeze and had some food. No, the cat had to start scratching at my door…so when I went out to check on her she ran in the door and I haven’t been able to bring myself to throw her out.

A quick trip to wal-mart later got a litter box and some food. Yeah. I’ll keep her until Monday before I take her to the shelter. She’s young and cute. She’ll get adopted

*sigh* Or I might wind up keeping her.

It seems so fitting don’t you think? To dress the ground in white and grey…

How about this snow storm? Ahh, craziness. We’ve had a tornado warning, flash flood warning, thunderstorm warning and winter storm warning all in one week. Gotta love Ohio River Valley weather.

Today has been a pretty lazy day for me. Off from work, only had one class. Feeling pretty much recovered from my sinus infection, upper respiratory infection and bronchitis. Quite a mix ey?

Wound up getting caught up on some Battlefield 2 earlier…I had forgotten how addicting and infuriating that game was. “Yes, I’ve almost captured the..” ***Fredward was killed. Oops

Of course I had to get out in this weather…I was originally going to play it safe and stay in but…That’s boring and I really wanted some coffee so I made the trek downtown. Some idiot actually tried going the speed limit on the bypass before realizing that was a very bad idea and dropping it down to 25. Gotta love this area. Not only do people forget how to drive during bad weather but I have a feeling if you go to any grocery store they’re going to be lacking Milk, Bread and Water. Come on guys. It’s some snow. Not a blizzard. If I was out driving today you can probably make it to the store.

Anyway, LeAnne was working and of course she didn’t have any tables…I was the only one foolish enough to go down for coffee =P Wound up playing a couple of dice games and BSing for oh, 5 hours or so. Pretty much made myself at home. It’s been a while since I’ve brewed up a fresh pot there…Call it crazy but I like the familiarity and comfort of pretty much being able to do whatever I want…and she’s the owners daughter so apparently it’s not that big of a deal.

Now classes are canceled for the day and I’m off work…It’s like a minivacation and I’m actually feeling well enough to enjoy it. However am I going to spend my time? Probably playing Battlefield 2 followed by studying for my Civ test tomorrow. I’m really trying to ace this semester for a multitude of reasons. 1.) Because I can and 2.) Because I really want to boost my GPA. So far, I have three different plans for next semester: One is completely doable but I’d rather not, The second i’d enjoy but I’m having to wait to see how financial aid pans out…and the third I would absolutely love but it’s going to be completely impossible.

Plan everything. Allow for change.

I finally watched The Departed last night…excellent movie. That’s about all I’m going to say about that. I really don’t have anything to write about except for I have another hour to blow until I have to go to work. I’m hoping that I might have at least one day next weekend off…I’d really like to go up to MSU for Campus Lights.. Maybe a Sunday? lol.

You know, I never thought I’d be angry with myself for actually doing my work.. So, for my classes today I went ahead and read the chapter and took notes on it…expecting some sort of discussion over the reading today only to find the instructor spoonfeeding everyone the information with no discussion at all. But, it just means I’m going to kick that much more ass on the test if I keep it up..

I was pleasantly surprised to see a decent amount of snow on the ground when I woke up…Snow is pretty much the only thing that makes winter bearable. Pure, Crisp, Relaxing…Oh, and next apartment I get.. I think I want a spot up front to avoid having to walk through the “Wind tunnel” of my building and the one apart from mine.. But, I also get a lot less traffic and noise being in back. Like most things in life its a trade-off.

Nothing is ever perfect. It’s such a cliche but it’s true. I guess the important question to ask is, “Does the good outweigh the bad?” Simple enough question and it applies to a lot of aspects in life.. As long as the answer to that is “yes” it’s worth it.

I’m enjoying the downtime though, sitting here with a cup of coffee, ruminating over some thoughts, listening to some sublime to get me psyched up for the night to come…

Snow!!

It’s the first snow of the year!

Now to find out if Murray is like Owensboro where everyone drives like an idiot and rushes to the nearest store to buy food, mlik and water at the first sign of a snow flake. I’ve at least found out people here can drive a little better.
