Happy Easter

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

The truck is back up and running. I wound up replacing the voltage regulator and a couple of cables/fried wires to get it back up and running again. Sadly, the radiator is leaking pretty bad, as is the timing cover and thermostat housing. But, I can’t get that right now…At least I have something to drive to class and work. Having to get this thing up and running has also brought up some pretty big problems I’d rather not get into on here…

last night was fun though, my friend Sarah and her new boyfriend came over for a bit…went to the Deerhead in Evansville for a while. The live band was surprisingly captivating. You could tell the bassist had listened to a little bit too much Phish and taken one too many drugs though. It was some kinda blues jam band that threw in a few rock songs. I can safely say I never expected to hear Money for Nothing from the Dire Straits live. It was definitely a good time. Carl, Sarah’s boyfriend, is an interesting guy and we found we have a decent amount of things in common.

and no more LOST until April? ah! Things are getting interesting! :)

Anyway, hope everyone has a Happy Easter.

850 bucks to get it up and running.. Yeah right.

Shot down. I stood. Withstood my neighborhood.

Well, I can safely say this hasn’t been a very good day. It started out with a minor annoyance of my washer deciding to leak all over the floor, no big deal. Cleaned it up, put in another work order.

In the middle of the night, I’m down at the Royce getting some coffee. Go out to leave…and my truck doesn’t start. I don’t think it’s the battery…I’m thinking the alternator. This truck is on its last legs. I can’t tell you the amount of times it’s died on me, take it into the shop, dies on me again. I was hoping to make it until August/September to get another car but I don’t think I can wait that long.

I think what made it so bad is sitting in the parking lot, I realized there’s not one person that I can call for help. Even for just a simple ride home…so I wound up calling a cab. Going to have to get the truck towed to a body shop tomorrow er this morning and try to figure out how I’m going to get to class.

But enough whining, it’s definitely an annoyance but, I’m getting it taken of.

It’s okay.

I had to laugh about this

While I was in class today, someone decided to pull down my fuse box and leave a nice handful of fuses sitting on the ground. None of them missing, none of them blown. Just pulled out…and they were a nice distance away from the fuse box. It’s not like they fell out.

it’s kinda funny when you think about it

It’s a white hot soul they want to sing for

I wish I had something interesting to write about but lately things have just been school and work…and i’m pretty happy about that. It’s definitely eating almost all of my time and I’m having to focus on keeping my agenda up to date so I can stay on top of homework assignments..

Oh, and I’m FINALLY going to have to break down and buy a printer. In HS I had Mrs. Purdy’s room, At Murray I had CTLT, at UK I worked in the lab, even at OCC the first year I had the laser at Computers Plus. Alas, my freeloading of printing is at an end. I think I can swing the 30 bucks, what do you think? ;)

I still like my classes so far, I finished training last Sunday at work so I’ve been on my own this week. Things haven’t been bad there and most of my co-workers are pretty cool. Went out with a few of them to Bdubs after closing and just BSed around. Another co-worker of mine was blarring out some Pumpkins tunes from the jukebox. It’s nice to have another Pumpkin Fan to sing with. haha.

That’s really all that’s been going on. A couple of random things here and there…dropping my cell phone in the middle of a field at OCC (oh yeah. My english class is in a TRAILER you all) but luckily I managed to find it…and Fridays I don’t have any class so I get to sleep in!

Still needing a new car.. lol, having no heat in my truck absolutely sucks…

Above all– things have been nice…and i’m liking that.

At least the water’s beneath your chin

I need a new vehicle. If I get this job tomorrow (and pray I do) that’s the FIRST thing any of my money is going towards. I’m out driving around.. Taking my typical loop around down and the truck dies on me at the offramp getting on New Hartford road. Okay, no big deal. Put it in neutral and go to restart it. “click, click click” Let it sit for a second and try to restart it. It’s 3:30 so there are no cars out. “Click click click” Try to give it some gas. No dice. It’s absolutely dead.

I wind up having to push the car off the exit onto the shoulder…Luckily, there is a Days Inn very close (Did I mention this is ONE TIME I left my cell phone at my apartment?) and I figured I’d call my mom to come pick me up because we’d probably have to wind up getting the truck towed. Busy. I’m BSing with the desk clerk, have a cup of coffee.. Wait about 10-15 minutes. Busy. I decide screw it, I’ll walk to my parents house. It’s close enough to where I hope all of my anger will be vented by the time I get to my parents house. That doesn’t quite work.

Turns out the phone is off the hook. Starts up within 10 minutes for my mother. “It’s either your carburetor or alternator…You probably need a new one of the two..Take it into the shop.” Seriously? That’s the LAST thing I can afford to do. Oh yeah, let’s go to a junkyard and see if we can scrap together something to rebuild it. I can’t afford it but I certainly can’t afford having it break down on a busy intersection and risk getting hit. When I get out of this entire situation you can bet your bottom dollar this will never happen again.

But you know what. None of this matters. Tomorrow er- today, I’m going to go schedule for my classes, I have a job interview and before I know it, this entire episode will be behind me.
