Things continue to look up which pleases me to no end.

I’m continuing to love both of my jobs…They’re both local small business which is a vast improvement from the corporate world I’ve been living the past few years. Sadly, most of my time has been reteaching myself materials I forgot years ago.

Still waiting to hear back from Murray’s online TSM advisor…It’s starting to get pretty late and the summer and I’d like to get registered fairly soon. It’ll be nice to be back in school and having a job that I can actually balance class with.

Random: My First Earthquake is an amazing band…if you’re into Electropop // Indie Rock. That’s probably something I miss the most about WKU–Revolution 91.7…well that and Froggy’s.

I want to take a moment and thank the Lord for the new recent developments in my life. I’m always stubborn enough to try it all on my own–to somewhat disastrous results. However, when I surrender it up to Him great things happen.

One day. It’s amazing–and somewhat frightening–to think how much can change in a day. I feel truly blessed that in this time of uncertainty and recession that I have not one but two jobs that I already love even though its such a short time in. I’ve gone back and forth for about 7-10 years whether or not to do IT for a living. Like I posted earlier, it’s taken a few stops for me to realize this is what I want to do.

So, it looks like I’ll be staying in Owensboro for yet some time. The funny part? I will, probably, still be a student of Murray State University this fall–albeit finishing up my TSM degree online. Still need to work out the details on that one.

I might be slightly excited that my custom-built Dell Studio XPS 16 arrives tomorrow :)

I swear, I’ve spent more time in Henderson this past week than I have in the past few years combined. Right now though I’m simply wasting time while this automated process completes.

What can I say about the show aside from it being a completely amazing experience? Let me preface this by saying I’m not a big Dave Matthews Band fan–or more accurately, I’m not very familiar with their music. I’ve enjoyed what I’ve heard and when the opportunity came along to broaden that exposure I jumped on it wholeheartedly.

Lance Wilkerson said it best, “You’re at a two-night show at Alpine for your first concert. You have been spoiled and you’ll find no other show will compare.” I haven’t been to another show yet but based on my experience at Alpine I can imagine it holding true. Starting it off Saturday Night was tailgating in the VIP parking area…the only person I knew was my friend Jeff who I went with. By the time it was time to enter the venue it was as if I knew these people for ages. Aside from Bonnaroo, I’ve never met a more good-natured, friendly, accepting group of people at a concert before. The delicious BBQ probably helped a little bit.

After the first show Saturday I was told how lucky I was to have gotten Blue Water partial…apparently that song never gets played. All in all Dave played for about three hours.

Sunday was a bit more relaxed considering we were didn’t have to drive from Chicago up to Milwaukee. It allowed us to move at a more leisurely place–and spend more time tailgating. Sadly, we didn’t have VIP parking for the second night…only took us about 15-20 minutes from our car to where Lance and his friends had their stuff setup. Mostly the same group of people, including the Penguin mascot. Ah, I wish my phone had signal in here…I’ll upload some pics and the setlist when I get home.

Night two was definitely my favorite. Better set list and a more relaxed vibe all around added to the enjoyment. 40,000 people both nights to a sold out show. We managed to get seats right behind the pit.

There’s not much to add except for I can definitely see from the band to the fans why everyone says that coming to Alpine is a magical experience.

…I lied, there is one more thing…I’m still more excited about getting to see the smashing pumpkins again this Saturday!!!

It has been an intense, incredibly enjoyable weekend…and as much as I love the road it’s good to be stationary–at least for a little bit. Time to grab some sleep and tomorrow I’ll post the setlist and a mini review of the show.

Back on the road again…I wish I was driving. I’m not exactly used to being a passenger…not sure if its that or if Jeff’s driving is absolutely horrid

Right now were stuck in traffic on I94 in Kenosha…stopping at Mar’s Cheese Castle seemed an excellent idea at the time but Jeff is in a hurry…

What’s the fun of going on a trip if one doesn’t slow down and see some sights?
