I seriously have some of the craziest dreams

…and this one is getting converted into a story first. This is what I jotted down when I woke up…

A couple of friends and I had just left this upscale ballroom dance and had stopped at a Burger King to eat. Oddly enough it was the old BK on Frederica–you know, the one they tore down for the White Castle? There was a tornado warning out which is what shut down the dance but we weren’t quite ready to call it quits just yet. That turned out to be a bad idea as we watched the restaurant across the street get shredded into several pieces and disappear. Leslie, a good friend of mine freaked out and started running across the street only to wind up flat on her face in a puddle. I ran after her…I had to. I couldn’t stand to see her blown away. Grabbing onto her legs with one arm and the support beam by the tanks with the other we’re both lifted into the air. The wind is rushing up and lifting us away as l I feel a sharp tug on my jacket. Chris ran after us but Leslie let go…she flies into a puddle and I see her arc up and get electrocuted by a downed power line. Right after that the winds die down and the rest of us are safe.

And suddenly I’m driving to meet my friends on this hill.

Outside overlooking are hill two cars are side by side. Smoking cigarettes and passing around a flask we’re all brooding in silence over the death of our friend. I run over to meet up with the rest of my friends… It’s a friend and her husband in one with Chris and a few others in the other. We’re on a hill overlooking the partially destroyed town when two black sedans pull up at the base. They look Government Issue—tinted windows, antennas at the back the works. Two men in suits pull a guy out of the trunk and shoot him twice execution style. One of the girls beside me screams and the guys start shooting at us. An hour later after some GTA style driving we go to Kim’s parents house.  Everyone is laughing–having a good time including me and Kim. It isn’t until automatic fire takes out the front of the house that the true situation presents itself. Somehow, they followed us. Dennis, Kim’s husband has already run out the back with his sidearm drawn trying to take down the two. It’s up to me to get the family and my friends secured in the safe room. Everyone is locked up and secured downstairs as I go running off after Dennis.  I hop in his car and we go tearing off after the vehicles.

They’re making it too easy and leading us straight to the Executive Inn. Dennis claims to be FBI and hands me a handgun. We go running after the men in suits only to find we’ve stumbled into a trap. This is where they were based out of and there are plenty more. Guys are opening fire and we managed to tag a few of them. Before long the real cops are swarming the building and Dennis decides to tell me he really isn’t FBI and his ID won’t stand up to scrutiny.  We both run off—him upstairs and myself in the main conference room. Three guys with automatic weapons storm the conference room and start shooting and searching random people.  Knowing I can’t run and can’t shoot my way out I rub someone else’s blood over my face and fall under a table propping a chair over me. The guys are randomly shooting the dead bodies and flipping them over. The body beside me gets tossed but luckily they leave me alone…

And then I wake up. WTF!

I’m in love…

…with Garfunkel and Oates. A female comedic duet on ukulele and guitar. How’s that for something new? Centered primarily around love, relationships, and social interactions that aren’t quite socially accepted. Perfect.

Here lately I found myself addicted to a television show, Jericho, that’s been off the air for a few years…much to my dismay. So two seasons and hours of looking up abandoned fallout shelters later I got an idea. Here lately, probably as a result of Jericho, I’ve been having an increased number of dreams regarding end of the world scenarios…I always kept a notebook full of the crazy dreams I’ve had which led to the creation of a new web site. Right now its simply a place to drop my ideas but once a week I’ve been taking the dreams and making short stories out of them. Hopefully it will get the creative forces going.

…which brings me to looking for a decent beginner’s guitar. Right now I’m torn between an acoustic or an electric. I’m slowly drifting away from the electronic music scene and would rather have something I can take out in the middle of nowhere and entertain myself instead of melting my ears in a club at 3am…

Two days left of 2009. This year has sucked incredibly. I’m trying to get excited about the fact it’s a new year. New Year, New Beginnings and what not except…its just a day like any other. It’s the symbolism. Why are symbols so important? What happens when they cease to matter? How difficult is it to create a personal symbol…wait, isn’t that what personal fortitude is all about? mmm…

There is a new bar in town–Gambrinus Libation Emporium. It’s located on 2nd st before you get to the court house. It’s incredible. Tasteful decor, incredible selection on both bottles and tap. I had a Delirium Tremens–a Belgian Strong Ale–and was blown away by the taste. If you’re looking for a quiet place to have a few drinks and socialize I highly recommend Gambrinus.

Oh how often do I find myself involved in drama…always hating the outcome but loving the exchange. The give, take, the questioning…the multiple layers of complexity as one walks deeper into the wilderness of mirrors.

It’s heightened awareness of multiple senses. Trying to stay one step ahead and being secretly pleased and publicly annoyed when I’m not…

Hell, I need to join a debate team! haha…maybe that will calm my mind down.

And broke it all apart…

The Smashing Pumpkins released their first track off the album ‘Teargarden by Kaleidyscope’ the other day…Teargarden is going to be released a track at a time for a total of 44 tracks in all. It’s strange hearing a complete studio version– I heard it played live at the 20th anniversary show in Cleveland last year. The third time that song had never been played live. I find myself somewhat privledged to have been one of the earliest people to have gotten to listen…

I’m not sure which version I like the most. The studio version is definitely more melodic and developed but it lacks the raw intensity of the live recording–who am I kidding, without Jimmy’s signature drums at the climax it falls short. I’m curious how I’ll adapt to an SP without that drum beat…

My poor computer desk–its been through a lot. The trim is starting to fall off, the base has to be propped up and not to mention the squeak that not even wd-40 can get rid of…Ha, it’s been a good desk though. Made it through everyplace I’ve moved over the years. At least I got a new computer chair…

Good things are on the horizon: Hopefully. I have a seasonal job at Sears right now which is boring but is employment…Two interviews were had today and I felt both went well.

My sleeping schedule is officially non-existent again (go figure) and I’m trying to cut back on the caffeine intake to compensate.I find myself slowly sinking back into geekdom–we’ll see how this goes.

Other than work I’ve been playing an insane amount of Modern Warfare 2…I don’t get the controversy surrounding the “No Russian” mission where you slaughter innocent civilians during a terrorist attack inside an airport. It’s a video game. GTA depicts countless violence against innocents and Washington D.C gets absolutely ravaged in MW2. On top of which, the mission is key to the entire plot of the game.

Well, its December now. 2009 is finally drawing its way to a close and I have to admit I’m looking forward to the new year. This year has sucked in pretty much every way imaginable haha. Hopefully with smart choices and a little bit luck on my side next year will be better!

hah. yeah, that’s happened.
