It was another beautiful, yet strange, summer morning… Driving towards Newburgh (with the construction I have to go here if I want to walk by the river…) I was slowly watching a full moon disappear with the rising sun at my back. It was probably the most diverse sky with regard to color I’ve seen in a while. Watching the moon slowly change…yellow, orange.red…rust…behind me a combination of purple and red with what seemed a green barrier separating the two…Spent an hour or so just walking about the various buildings in Historic Newburgh and reading the plaques. I enjoy the quaint feeling of a small town—not to mention those condos are pretty swank, lol.
It’s starting to feel a bit more real. Rent has been paid and I put in my 30-day notice…after reading over there checklist I’m realizing there’s no way I’m going to get ANY part of my deposit back but, isn’t that about par for the course? While I’m definitely ready to move away (again) and continue to grow I can’t help but be a bit nostalgic. This has been my home for almost three years…A lot of great memories here, and a couple of not-so-good ones as well.
To top it off I ran into an old co-worker I met shortly after moving here…He was helping his (I guess girlfriend?) move out of the apartment right below mine. I haven’t seen him in two years and walking by we both forgot the fact we had a huge falling out. It was amusing to watch two individuals get excited about seeing either other before remembering they don’t get along.
Hopefully July will be busy and speed by: “Say what!” is this weekend followed by Cavetronic next. I don’t THINK there’s anything going on the 3rd weekend but I know Floorplay II is in Dayton o August 1st…Sadly, I don’t think I’m going to be able to make that show which is a shame—I wanted to see Deekline.
Stereophonics – Rewind
Have you done all you wanted?
Are you happy and warm?
Do you miss someone special
You don’t see anymore?
Can you sleep well at night?
Have you done all you can?
The place I was born in
Stays crooked and straight
I see innocent blue eyes
Go blind everyday…
