Written by fredward on November 19th, 2007Saturday night I decided to make a trek down to Murray…Kept a pretty low profile over the weekend. Just mainly needed to get out of town for a little bit and I wanted to take a walk by the lake before the weather got too much cooler.
Murray was a good time. I’m surprised that the car lot that was formally the Log Cabin is now a mexican restaurant. I will say they had pretty good food. Aside from a paint job the place was just as a grungy as ever. Ah, my home away from the Royce. Many a night was spent with friends over a cup of coffee.
My friends I was staying with crashed around 2 but I was still wired (go figure) and decided to go out for a drive. Wound up driving down The Trace and found myself back at Hematite. When did they add that fence? It was a beautiful night out, not too cold and not a cloud in the sky…plenty of fog on the way back but that’s another story. It’s so rare to be in an area where you have literally no man-made light. If you want any visibility you better hope there’s a clear sky and plenty of moonlight.
Wound up crashing around 6 and left shortly after I woke up…and knowing my lovely luck the steering column of my loaner car locked up in Rumsey. I barely managed to coast into this parking lot to wait for a wrecker to pick me up. First time a trip to Murray took 4 hours.. lol
