I wrote this mid-september.. just now found it.. I don’t even think I posted it on here.

It starts off slowly
the thunder in the distance
The slight rumble almost too faint to detect
It’s isolated, it can’t reach you
Next starts the wind, the slow breeze engulfing your surroundings
the leaves lift in anticipation of something more

You’re alert, your senses are ready for the approaching battle
The gray clouds drift nearer
Raindrops dot the landscape
the first strikes of lightning are on the horizon
No pattern, no predictability
constant and unyielding

The wind picks up
The trees begin to sway
The skies turn gray above your head
The thunder echoes across the sky ringing in your ears.
The rain beats down bending the grass as it hits

What once was a series of separate events
Unites in chaos, creating disorder all around you
Nature’s orchestra creating a brilliant cacophony
You try to embrace it all
to find some method in the madness
your senses fail you
the discord is overwhelming

violence-confusion-raw-wind-rushing-intensity…calm

there is a calm in every storm
you can see once more
your surroundings are excited
but in that one moment
there is peace
a clarity that can’t be found elsewhere

for that one moment
you have resolution
the chaos stands at bay

Some think that a storm’s calm is the absence of turmoil
You see it as the focal point
All of the elements are combined
The patterns become clear
A euphony emerges

You can see in every direction and you understand it all.

The peace is short lived

It starts off slowly
the thunder in the distance
The slight rumble almost too faint to detect…
