Written by fredward on March 20th, 2007On a whim I decided to go to the park, there was just something electric in the air.. that mixed with the mist/fog was too good to pass up. Walking those trails was exactly the thing I needed. For a brief time, I wasn’t a student working towards a degree, I wasn’t another disgruntled employee worrying about paying bills, It was if I was in the middle of nowhere and nothing existed except for me and the woods.
Walking through nature is a very intimate experience.. if you have to share it, it’s best shared with someone who gets it.. Or someone that you’re hoping will get it soon. This is a far cry from the computer geek who used to stay up all night on mountain dew and pizza rolls (disgusting i know)
I took one of the back trails and there’s a fairly open area where it’s but a field and a few barns. I’m standing on a bit of a rise overlooking it all, feeling a burst of wind blow over me. The wind was pretty powerful today.. It was at that time, I wished that my writing skills were better. I wanted to write, I wanted to find some way to channel all of the emotion and my feelings into words. But unfortunately, I wasn’t able to. So, I’m left with the memory of the moment. but theres nothing wrong with that.
In other news, I can’t get the song “life is a highway” out of my head.
