Class got out a bit early.. well, a lot early and we had a writing assignment to do so I figured I’d go ahead and get it done while I was still motivated.

Headed down to the Royce and the waitress wouldn’t leave me alone long enough for me to read anything so I wound up leaving. Headed to Books-a-million but that didn’t work out so well. It’s really a shame that I can’t stand Denny’s or SnS coffee. So I figured I’d come to OCCs library before they closed and start but I’m not really in the mood now. I’ve always had a hard time studying in my room/home. Too many potential distractions (I’ll start fiddling w/ winamp or start up a game), it’s hard just to tune everything out and focus. But, I have a week to do it and if anything else my weekend is clear so it’s not like I’m running out of time.

Saturday morning the Adelphia, er, timewarner guy is going to come hook up my cable. It’s going to be nice to be connected in, especially get my FreeBSD server back up and running.. I’m sure WRL are going to be glad to get my eggdrops back too ;)

I’m already getting bored with this 9-5 routine. It’s a great job and I’m lucky to have it but after work it’s pretty dull. Part of coming back to a city after everyone you’ve known has left. Going to take a while to build up the friend base. Besides, one can only drive so much. I know I’m getting paid now and all but still. My poor car needs to get looked at before I wear it into the ground

So it’s 7:30, I figure I’ll brew up a pot, fill up my mug and drive around a little longer

EDIT: Drove around for a few hours.. I’ve driven everywhere that I can given the time constraints of having to be back at work at 9am. So, now that I have some money I think I’m going to go to a state that I haven ‘t been before. It’s 12 hours to Virginia Beach.. Gotta guy coming Sat morning to hook up my cable. I could drive down there, get a room, come back the next morning.

Hm. It’s pushing it. I might. It depends.

Today’s been a pretty good day. Saved a semi-important client by proving to him that our original diagnosis was correct and wound up getting half a day off as a result. Also my loan check came in so I can finally go buy my books and do this “paper” for Euro tonight. ;) It’s nothing big, should take about thirty minutes to do tops.

So, that leaves me with a good four hours to go out and enjoy the day. Luckily, it’s sunny and fairly warm. Definitely weather to go to the park and take a walk around.

UPDATE: GATMOG (Glass and the Machines of God) is back

http://www.the-zomb.com/GATMOG/ <– for the cartoon.
http://www.billycorgan.it/modernfable.asp <– If you want a really weird story.

“And as it was with all things, we spoke in rhyme and riddle…not for fear of detection, for that had happened very long time ago, but rather that those who had secretly wished to be spoken to were… to know that these words were intended for them and theirs only…for lonely isles and windswept curses held the symbols transmuted and divined to hold within, to keep forever… only a warm heart and a knowing smile granting entrance to this mystery…” - excerpt from Glass and the Machines of God Part 1

I haven’t read this thing in forever. Once upon the time I read all of the parts. It was Sophomore year of High School actually..and many hours (especially in world civ) were spent reading, questioning and interpreting. I wonder if I still have my old notebook in my parent’s attic (I still haven’t found that box) old class notes mixed with the analysis of a teenager still ripe with angst and naivete.
