Monday, September 11th, 2006yesssssss I had my first crazed person at work today! (I’m a “Lab Consultant) for Student Computing Services.. pretty much you sit in a chair and help people w/ word.
So this lady comes in.. Shows me a printout of a graph and wants me to tell her some excel stuff.
ME: I’m sorry, there’s not much I can do unless you have the file here that I can edit. (and she’s international so I can’t understand her)
HER: Then why do you work here? If you can’t help me you don’t need job!
ME: *shrugs* I still can’t help you. Sorry. If you bring me the file I can.
5 minutes pass
HER: Your copy machine is broken! Why is everything in this lab so horrible!
ME: *fake smile* I’m sorry, If you’ll give me one moment i’ll try and get this repaired for you.
*turns it on*
ME: Somehow it must have gotten shut off over the weekend
HER: Oh, Yeah, but that does me no good. I want a refund! *holds out hand*
ME: *eyes glare*
CO-WORKER: We don’t actually have money in the lab.. I can take you through the process of getting a refund though
ME: *Takes dollar out of wallet, copies her stuff and walks away*
