A trip to the cabin
Friday, December 9th, 2005It amazes me the intelligence, or well, lack of that some TSM major have regarding computers. More accurately I’m refering to freshman TSM majors.
I was sitting at the Log Cabin enjoying a cup of coffee when I overhear a conversation about internet lingo. They’re throwing around terms like STFU, RTFM, pwned, newb etc…At first I thought they were making fun of people who use these terms in conversation.. then they start talking about “Old School” computer equipment. I’m expecting to hear a 386 reference, single speed CD-rom or some other archane device when I hear them mention a PS/2 port. One of the TSM Majors (I know this because he was in my freshman O) did not know what it is..
Guy 1: PS/2.. you know, one of those old school mouse connectors?
..an old school mouse connector? Common man, what happened to the Serial Mouse?
Anyway, it was good for a laugh.
