I’ve been fooling around with SageTV ( www.sage.tv ) over the past couple of days and I must say I’m very very impressed. I need to register somewhere so I can upload some screenshots.. but, I’ve found a way to minimize sagetv to the systray but still allow my remote to control it on my tv.. so I decided to keep it

Uhm, IMDB support has been added to the general menu so for any movie you can request an IMDB lookup (very nice)
Current weather + Doppler radar display has been added

tomorrow i’ll work on getting my videos/mp3s setup right on the display

As much as I like this.. I’ll probably wind up switching as soon as I get an svideo out cable for my videocard (or get a 2nd video card in case svideo on this is fucked like I think it is)

The PVR-350 I have can only display mpeg streams.. not capable of showing desktops.. (ie I can’t run emulators)

But, with my hauppauge remote I can tell it to launch an application and temporarily put SageTV to sleep.. when i get the svideo issues sorted that’s what I’ll do.. setup buttons for nester, zsnes and mame respectively.. SageTV is too good to pass up..

man :D r0x
Being able to schedule television episodes to record at dvd quality on a certain time PLUS automatically take out commercials is priceless.. no longer am I a slave to the TV guide
