For the first time in years, The Smashing Pumpkins have released news that excites me! After years of negotiating with EMI, SP finally has rights to their older material. This makes a Gish box set actually possible and I look forward to hearing late 80s unreleased material. Also, Machina I and Machina II will be released in its appropriate track order, remixed and remastered the way it was supposed to be.
Owata, one of my favorite new songs, is finally getting a studio release and they’re scrapping the song-at-a-time TBK format in favor of recording a full length album. I hope it maintains the tried and true loud/quiet classic SP style that will make those acoustic ballads really stand out.
