This is a blatant waste of resources but I can’t help but laugh. Two hikers off on a weeklong excusion in Alaska activated an emergency beacon only one night into their trip–What is the reason you might ask? Broken leg? No, the midnight sun was too hot…they weren’t prepared.

Joking aside, those two men took up valuable resources that luckily weren’t needed in an actual emergency. I hope they at LEAST get a fine.

It could be just me but if I was going to spend a week somewhere…I’d probably research the conditions first and prepare accordingly.
